The Innovation Centre in Integration was inaugurated on the 16th of January of 2006 as the final result of a collaboration agreement between the public company Emcanta and Microsoft Iberica.

The Centre develops the CICO’s (Cooperative Oriented Innovation Centres) role, which is one of the innovations agents of the 2006-2010 Regional Plan of Research, Development and Innovation, launched by the regional government of Cantabria.

The CICO’s joins the public initiatives with the private ones, in strategic areas for the development of Cantabria in a way that both environments could efficiently take advantage of existing synergies.

The goal is to create a working group focused on the integration technologies and common problems when connecting heterogeneous informatics systems, that contributes to develop a specialized regional industry.

The Centre has a first collaborator, Microsoft Iberica, which provides two key elements. On the one hand, it bets for the development of the Information Society and IT Companies by means of the Corporative Responsibility programs. On the other hand, it provides the integration and development technology in a continuous evolution in order to provide the best solutions for the market.

Our challenges:

Be able to achieve an expertise level in technology for providing a set if services to the regional agents (the Government, the University, and the TIC companies) in order to favour the development of the regional economy and the regional society.
